Good News on our Anniversary!

Austin and I celebrated four years! We kept it low-key this year and went fishing in the Snowy Range (you guys, it's 10,000 feet up there!!), then walked around downtown Laramie. We spent time at our favorite thrift shop, then headed to Mizu Sushi for a wonderful dinner. We split a sushi roll (Rose Roll!) and had vermicelli because the place is actually run by vietnamese people... so you have to get the vietnamese food, it's legit! Big Dipper ice cream is also our favorite ice cream and gelato place, it's pricey but oh my word one scoop is almost too much. Best. Ever. When Austin and I got back from our adventures, we watched How I Met Your Mother and watched the movie Belle. Btw, that is a great period piece based on a true story, I recommend it! Low-key was the best anniversary! I love this guy! Plus we had some more good stuff happen... Many of you don't know because it's just not something you share, but we were struggl

Fishing

All of us went fishing today! We invited Austin's parents to go on a fishing trip, and I think I have found my happy place. In the Snowy Range.  We caught a few, and I am going to retry trout as an adult. I'll let you know how that goes haha! We kept a smaller, legal ( > 6in) guy so we could try it.  The altitude was 10,800ft, and I didn't know mosquitos could survive that high (let alone where there is still glaciers and snow) ... so I ended up smelling like deet and wearing a buff all day to keep them from biting my scalp (mine is tasty for whatever reason... must be my shampoo??) The water was so clear from the pure snow run offs, and quartz was everywhere! It seemed like a postcard picture, and it was very different from anything I've seen. Wildflowers were eeeverywhere. I am telling you. This was like the woods off of Disney or something.  So anyway! Nothing much to say here, I do have a lot of photos from our trip!

Making the Most of Things

I know.... Terrible.  I have not been writing! I told Austin, "I don't feel like it... we're boring and old, and probably no one wants to hear." He reminded me that this has been my journal about our life together, and that is so true. That's the reason I started! I think I have said that over three times now... So here's what's been going on. We are on our summer break, Austin works in banquets, and as a server at the Hilton, I quit McDonald's for a hopefully better situation (doing my teacherspayteachers illustrations for my mom's store and my own store ), and we have been making the most of living in Wyoming. We moved to a way cheaper place, got new couches, and sadly the new place did not allow for Juno to stay. It was heart-wrenching. Thankfully, Austin's parents took her in which we are so grateful for. She has been adjusting... too comfortably!  We also got to see my mom, Lance (step-dad), and Chris' family (step-br

Exploring Two Blocks Down

Freedom feels good, even if it's only two blocks down from where you live.  And, you might just find things you never noticed before :)

Enlisting Your Help

Austin and I want your budgeting ideas! We have successfully done our bachelor's and first year of grad school (we just call the law and nursing adventures that. Gets too complicated.) with a budget that worked. As you may have heard, we are moving to a place that will save us around $200 a month. Austin can work a bit more, and I will be working less. Nursing is a lot of money. And so is law school. So now the both = craptons. My classes for four semesters will be in Cheyenne. On the bottom right corner, you can see what I will travel to get to class. Laramie to Cheyenne. That = major $$$ in gas. I do plan on finding a carpool as 1/4 of the class travels from Colorado (crazy right??), and some from Laramie. We also have to take into account some hotels once in a while due to lovely Wyoming weather.  So as you can see, we are doing what we can as far as living spaces, working, and travel costs. We also only use internet, do not use data plans, and do not do cable
