Braustin's Halloween Special

From [the] Family + Formula:

Jacked-a-Lantern

The Winter already is coming in! This, believe it or not, is the brightest it gets all day for us from here on out until May/June.  We've been keeping up on our meals, this recipe . :link:. (Alaskan cod with chimichurri, sweet potato, and brown rice) Whenever I get sad about Austin eating his own type of cookies... I cope by just smelling them. This week, Austin got his pumpkin finally! And there is definitely a story to this one. We went Saturday to go get him one, and I spotted this glorious beauty at Albertson's from the side of the road. But we had to go  to Walmart first. When we got to Albertson's, it was gone :( So Austin picked out another pumpkin.  As we arrived at the checkout, another college student had snatched the pumpkin Austin wanted (that I spotted). Then we heard him ask, " I just want to know how much this weighs, I have to ride my bike home and come back later to get it because it's too heavy.&

Such a Snooze

Most days have been like this for the both of us:  So naturally a morning for us consists of: When it seems we cannot bare it anymore,  we make these bad boys during our hour afternoon break. That .... is a little taste of academic glory. Milk, vanilla ice cream, and real peach syrup. Peach Milkshake!

Cook Off and Boo Radley.

Last week, we got to participate in some installation art. We drove out of town to the desert do some "rock stacking" for a labyrinth made of lava rock. (Idaho has tons of volcanoes. Bet you didn't know that!) My guess is the state would turn into a giant french-fry post-apocalyptic.  Three of my professors have booths at our local farmer's market, and so we got the Jones' kettle corn, stopped by Carla's seriously fancy baked goods, and I got myself a pumpkin from the Blackfoot fields. White pumpkins are so neat! Yes, I naturally had to name it Boo Radley. We enjoyed a movie at the international cinema I help run, and some cider :D The nordic hat... Thanks Sherri! Amazon birthday card! As of school, I am an intaglio beast and have my first critique for two plates tomorrow --wish me luck! Austin had a coming of age moment.  And I am quite sure we are ready to leave this place where they think that drawing parking spot

We have a little announcement:

Friends and Family, we are keeping a separate illustrated blog about our adoption adventures, and life as two young married students. .:link:. We will have a feature in Braustin Nation with new posts from our story :) We won't start our family for a while, but the process certainly is beginning as we apply to graduate school and go through our first year. We hope our illustrated story-blog will help other couples out there who cannot have biological children. We hope to share our life as a happy family of two, and what happens as a little family, and when we do decide to adopt. Background Story for those who do not know: Austin and I were informed by my doctor that it would be best not to have biological children due to my dystonia. It would be harmful to me, and the child has incredible statistics of getting it as well. Dystonia like mine also increases ten fold for the child. While every decision is very personal to each and every family about situations like thi
