Galina's Baby Shower

My friend Galina is due in March! I told her I wanted to throw her a baby shower,  so throw one I did! (And Austin of course was a big help behind the scene!) Here's some photos from the event! I was proud of my cake despite it being lop-sided... but I'll have you know it was SUPER moist and delectable.  Everyone enjoyed themselves through a game of pin the diaper on the baby, and won prizes of blue nail polish for her baby boy! (Obviously not for the baby.... just in honor haha!) Orange sherbert punch, BBQ cocktail weenies, and little onsies!  All in all I think it went well!

The Blizzard Visited Idaho!

We define:

Boring Married Couple. We're defining that one as of late. There's been lots to do though! As you can see we're already packing to move. (We have picked a place! We will announce it soon!) Here are some photos from this week's events: About a third of our stuff is already in boxes. It's so sad! However, neither of us have time so we have to get started. I've been a happy kid at the print lab because we've been having huge shipments with all sorts of boxes and packaging material... I'm scared to show you our second room and how it looks like a box/shipping equipment factory! Of course..... BFA. (I'm sending out cards and business cards, so if you want one...) I thought doing my cards would put a dent in my school funds, and while asking for color postcards I realised.... Intaglio is black and white!! Duh!! So they were waaaay cheaper (SCORE!) I did my business cards through that obnoxious TV ad for Vistaprint... which ended up

That February Holiday (No Not President's Day.)

We're not big valentine's people.... But it happens anyway. And it happened on my 13 hour day. So..... we made the most out of it and if you know us it was awesome ;) After EITC (my CNA college) one day, I showed up to Carla's office all tired and busy and nasty in my scrubs... and she had all this beautiful paper out. It looked like a Wes Anderson scene and of course we discussed Wes Anderson with my friend Annie too haha! And soon we were all chatting and making valentines the old fashioned way. There is glory in the small things. I told Austin not to do anything or I'd be really pissed.  (That's how it went with my engagement ring too, I told him if he didn't get me a pearl I'd be pissed. And believe you me he almost got me a diamond because the easy price tag on the pearl made him nervous. Can I just say there's a lot said about that?) Well. There was my favorite Rose he snuck in with a note <3 And in spirits of anti-v

Some Firsts

(In case I haven't been annoying enough with it....) I started CNA, and this signifies the "true start" to my nursing career! Hopefully in a year or two I will be an RN :D The day went great (despite losing my wallet completely... hello DMV and CPR card replacements) seriously nothing could smash today. Everyone from my class is nice, and from all different backgrounds. It's such a change, but needed. We dove right in and the most memorable part of today was when my Michigan-Detroit-Girl Instructor had us put on gloves and attacked our hands with ketchup and said, "That my friends is blood, poop, and vomit. Get your gloves off without touching it." But as you all know I am a printmaker..... and I do this daily with skin-staining ink haha! Also, this Sunday I started primary as their music leader! They technically are nursery age still, and very young. The oldest is two! So I made some coloring pages related to the songs we sang, and play

Austin Forgot his Lunch

Okay, okay. We'll miss Rexburg. Yup. Over this last week we have pretty much decided where we want to go. And it's made us realise how comfy we are here with all the many blessings we've had. I thought about it and even in Rexburgatory we have managed to find things that make us so happy! And it's given us everything we could ever need. So where ever we go next, it's going to be great too because almost anywhere else has more to do than here. And even if it is like here, well didn't I just say we've felt super blessed? Win. Win.  Some of our favorites here at BYU-Idaho have been the Ceramics Sale (I love looking in our cupboards, and even in the plant picture you can see some!) the Horticulture Department Shop: Austin got me this Meteor plant the other day! Plus there's two cockatiels you can play with in the Tropics room! And of course we love our programs! (My Artist Business Cards came in!!!) We've made awe

A House Divided

I wanted the 49ers naturally. I was born there, and lived there for a while.  Plus Steve Young was in our ward when I was ten.  Austin wanted the Ravens. His reasoning? "Well, they beat my Packers and nobody beats my Packers. And I was raised to hate the 49ers. You shouldn't pick teams I was bred to hate. BYU... now the 49ers?" This meant war.  And I am a ninja. (Please excuse my Sunday grunge and our weird faces.) In good All-American Spirits, we put the game on our TV and brought out the goods. And Mormon-Mobile for the bbq weenies.  And we let the game begin.  It was funny because Austin being ADD as he is couldn't sit still. The beginning wasn't an exciting game anyway. So he made some bread for himself, and cooked up some dinner. I thought it was funny because we had traded places today. Instead I was the one interested in the sports game! I thought the world had ended and moments after the power went out at the game. .
