Packed.

The Second Room is holding all our stuffs... it's bare. We took boxes from my work (intaglio lab) and from Deseret Book.  In case you didn't catch it... this cracks me up :) "Corrosive and Hazardous Material Handling Packet enclosed" Now you're really gonna eat over at our place ;) Speaking of food storage, we dun good eating through it! We have shelves of empty jars. We've had to be creative eating our scraps. Frozen beef, P.A.N. from my friend, and left over eggs. Rancheros Huevos! The protein is important, I mean look at this guy! Tuesday we head down to Idaho Falls where we are staying with my Great-Grandma to say goodbye for a night. Until Wednesday, XoXo

Mom's Watch

Tomorrow is my State Skills Exam for CNA, wish me luck!  I needed a watch to do vital sign counts, and Austin reminded me about the watch my mom gave to me. I pulled it out and there it was, the coolest retro-numbered wind-up watch! My friend Corina who is from Venezuela taught us how to make patacones, which are gluten free!   P.A.N instant dough, boiled chicken with chicken broth added, pepper, mayo, and avacado! She used munster cheese, but all I had was shredded. So excuse that unearthly orange.    So. Dang. GOOD.   I've been careful to save all my friends' recipes! I'm going to make this protein and energy-packed granola bars for our roadtrip hopefully from my friend Shawnie from EITC's CNA lab. I was hoping to keep my lovely nails (thanks to my cousins) through the CNA state exam... but I can't so I took a picture. Revlon Blue Sky and gold sparkles. <3 Wish us luck because if I pass the CNA test, we will be very blesse

Utah Salutation

Austin and I got to say hello to Utah! We were scared we wouldn't be able to because of all the cost of moving and no longer having jobs... but we had $100 and we were able to do it! All of my family is there, and Cheyenne area is 8 hours away. Right now we are only 4 hours away... big difference! We stopped in Ogden to try and find an Argentinian bakery (But it went out of business just a week before, sad day!) I never have seen Ogden's downtown, who knew it was so pretty? We stopped at IKEA because we have to get a few things for our new place we will live. We sold off a lot of furniture because of moving costs, and this time around we decided we wanted to put what we could towards a nicer home environment. I mean... we are talking $12.00 floating shelves haha! We do what we can! Of course after a long road trip we were hungry... I lucked out because their ribs and veggie medallion are GF, and Austin got the infamous Swedish meatballs. I love li

The Big Shebang

We made it! I had my last Print Sale I did my last painting, and here's something neat --those paint brushes were given to me in high school, and I have preferred them ever since.  For our graduation party, I made the infamous cake we make for everything Art. A hazelnut, coconut creme frosting cake. It's all gluten-free too! ___________________________________________________ Recipe: Overnight chill two cans of coconut fat.  Pre-heat oven to 350°F In a Blender: 1 cup chopped hazelnuts, 8 eggs, 1 1/4 cup sugar.  Add 4 tbl potato starch, 3 tea baking powder. Pour in greased and floured two 8" rounds. Bake 15-20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Coconut Creme: Drain liquid from fat solids. Whip and slowly add 1 1/2 cups sugar, and 4 tea vanilla extract.  Keep Chill!  ____________________________________________________ All of our family came out, and we couldn't have had a better time. An American Gentleman

The title is from a print and watercolour I did based on this photo I took when Austin and I were in SLC. It was the weekend we got engaged! The story behind this was neither of us knew a Boston Terrier existed. It's a weird dog if you've never seen one haha! We thought he was a statue (like a garden gnome or something) that was with the junk beside him. He never moved! He didn't move even when I took a photo of him. Finally we advanced on him, gave up, and walked away. He moved! It scared the living crap outta us.  So that's how it all started.  When we found out about our kid situation, we knew we wanted a Boston Terrier to keep us company as we go through that journey because it brings good memories. Well, lots of things change and go on and now we're on third year of marriage, moving to Wyoming and I have turned into a Carhart girl ;)  And we're finishing our last projects --I worked on a final watercolour piece! When thinking ab

Date Night

Only next week to get through for BYU-Idaho! The Print Lab for me has been so much fun. People come in around finals, and party it up! Today we even had some people doing the print lab tradition of tin foil food on our hotplate :) I am sooo going to miss my job and all the wonderful people here. I finished my map project, and am excited to put them in the print sale! Any left overs will be on an etsy shop I want to start this summer. That is a huge goal of mine. I've never had time in school, and something to look forward to as a BFA graduate!  As we always say, we've been busy. We've been careful to reserve Fridays (when I get home from work at 9pm.....) as a date night. This time we pulled out the big bucks and went to Kiwi Loco, our favorite frozen yogurt shop because we'll be leaving. I wish I could eat there every day because it's so good! (Screw being a poor student lol.) It's late by the time I get home, so we always watch a movie

Thoughts over an Apple Beer

I have to leave my favorite job with some marks! I've gotten tons of my maps printed :D Austin finished a big paper last night, and to say the least we are tired. He got a pop to keep him up, and I got an Apple Beer 5 kcal! It's the best carbonated apple drink ever, and it's made in our neighboring state in SLC! Quick meals have been important! One thing I found on Pinterest has helped a lot. Austin made them one day, and they have forever changed our lives! (A little dramatic but so is the color.) Spinach cubes for our smoothies! Blend spinach leaves in a blender with a little bit of water to get it going, and freeze them in an ice tray. Pop them in your smoothie and you've got some veggies going in your diet :D When sitting here today after CNA class, finishing my Apple Beer, I was staring at this frame I keep on our bookshelf. I don't know why exactly I framed it, but it's been my favorite picture of my Brother and I. It's
