The Catch Up

Let me tell you! Things have been nuts! I am absolutely loving EMT. Love, love it. Although, I have not had a serious situation yet, and who knows (I could pass out when I see blood and guts yet haha). This was my first day of clinicals: Austin has gotten into the groove of law school, and feels much more secure in his second semester. I cannot believe he's almost done with his first year. He'll be a 2L this August! We got to attend Law Ball too. We didn't really get photos because we were having too much of a blast and forgot. It was a masquerade theme, and a fun dance... and a whole lot of law jokes I didn't get lol. But Austin did, and all his friends and him enjoyed themselves. I love seeing him happy! After Law Ball, everyone goes out to the bars. I love going to bars to get a shirley temple and hang with my friends, but we were an old fart married couple and had a movie and gorge-fest date.  A good friend of mine unfortun...

A Carmen in Spain

Austin's littlest sister (Kristine) got called to the Málaga, Spain mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints . She reports in June. We are so excited for her! These photos below are everyone in the family that gathered for the opening of the mission call, including her close friend Arie.

New Traditions

Remember how I said we wanted to keep having date nights? We've done good! I'm sure you've noticed we had some favourites in Rexburg. Moving to a new place can throw you off, but still be adventurous. I really like Asian food. But like... serious Chinese and Vietnamese and Thai food. We found a Hong Kong Buffet which scared us at first, but it was decent. We decided to explore further, and that was a mistake haha.  Straight up dog food. Not even an exaggeration. I am not sure WHAT meat we ate. That adventure scared us off for a bit, but then we found an oasis.  New Mandarin!! It's the quirkiest place as it resides in an old western restaurant space. SO good. Best food I've had outside the city. So we got to enjoy eating there for our date :) See what I mean about the Western and Eastern coming together?  Gosh do I wish I had these photos for my BFA.  We are both still swimming in school and work, and still enjoying...

Year of the Horse

All is well and fine. Sometimes it's hard to tell you guys all the exciting things in our lives because... well... it's not that  exciting haha! Here's proof we're still alive: It's been super cold and snowing tons, so the interior of our windows (again) look like this: It's actually kind of easy to open up the books and study when that's how it is outside. Both of our computers crapped out on us, so we finally took the money we've been saving and bought this lovely mac desktop. Illustrations are going to be wonderful! And law school notes? Apparently they are, too: We definitely have not stopped cooking, although McDonald's gives me free meals everyday now that I am a Crew Chief. But even still, look at this beautiful chicken Austin made! This semester has already proven really difficult as I work full time, and am doing the EMT academy here, and finishing my last (difficult) nursing prereqs. My application goes ...

75 Degrees of Xmas

This year we spent Christmas in San Diego with my side of the family (Dad's.)  It was so much fun because Austin has never celebrated Xmas with me like that! We saw so much family and spent quality time together --cooking, playing poker, and doing crafts with the little one.  Before we left, I got all geared up with Austin. We watched Christmas movies, and made stuff including little clay figurines of us haha! We snacked on pretty Christmas tin treats... I painted my nails Pinterest style with all the Holiday glitter ombré. I made an ornament earlier with my mom over Thanksgiving, and I made spring rolls before we left! Dad treated us so well and made sure we got our blast of the San Diegan experience. Lambretta ride, Trophy Motorcycle vintage shop (you guys... I scored a 1960's dress, photos to come!), and Santa getting Mia a guinea pig :) Of course we enjoyed lots of beach time, family, and late Poker ni...
