Sacramento was so much fun, and we got to spend

a lot of time with Andrew and Mindy too!

You gotta respect those two (school, baby, and crazy work hours!)

I mean Austin and I just get to take Ryan when he's all cute

and be the Aunt and Uncle.

Mom is way into the Grandma role, and that's funny because I can remember myself when I was little! And plus it's just funny my mom is a Grandma. Because she kicked my butt at a 5k run just on Monday. And Austin. Sorry Austin.

Anyway, waaaay too much fun with my mom and Lance, and Chris and Hailee too!

Folsom Lake, making stuff with mom (imagine that... us crafty crafters.) Lance actually went to a bike race where he ranked nationally!

Chris and Hailee invited us to their home in which they are remodeling and holy crap. Amazing! Chris also has a new Boxer named Sammie and Austin and I are probably in trouble. Because we fell in love! Next we went to Lumberjack's and I totally realized that's the restaurant with the giant Lumberjack (oblivious I know) they moved on Shipping Wars! Okay... too much A&E too.

Call Me a SAHM in Training

Stay at Home Mom (SAHM) Besides a medical leave and two maternity leaves, I’ve always been a full-time plus on call nurse mom. I am now almost two months into being a SAHM and I would have to still say I’m training! A lot of you have told me routine is so important, and I’ve been trying my darndest to do that. We do library time or errands in the morning, naptime and quiet time after lunch, and art and outdoor/indoor active play until dad comes home! Some days it blows up in my face, much like what we’d call a s-tshow at work, haha! Except these are my monkeys and my circus! But mostly because I am learning and loving it, too. I am so lucky to have an incredible husband and health team that honestly kept me alive during that time. The Last Stretch

I am on the last little stretch before the surgery! It's amazing how in denial I can still be, thinking that I do not have anything wrong. But then you get a wake up call when your body does funky things you can't stop, and then you fall down the stairs twice. Once I popped my shoulder, and the second I popped a hip and broke my back molar coming down on my side. So I got that tooth fixed ASAP, thank the heavens it didn't damage any roots! At the dentist my mouth was opened for an extended period of time, and needles were involved. Just when you think you have this whole Dystonia thing under control.... another reminder! I got lock jaw while working as a floor nurse! My jaw had increasing pain through the week, and I revisited the dentist. Nothing wrong with my tooth. At work, it sealed shut (and not to be gross) but when you have an intense cramp like that, it causes immense pain. I do in fact throw up sometimes from the pain. Well if your mouth seals... and tons...

Holiday Hullabaloo

It is full blown Christmas at the Carmens! The boys have been busy with holiday crafts, decorating and drawing. Because the colder weather draws us indoors and off our scooters and bikes (though we still go on walks these days in the bike trailer all bundled up) Our house these days looks more like this: We’ve had so much fun doing all the typical holiday crafts and baking with the boys! We went to Queensgate Gardens where they got to meet Santa and make their own ornament. We also made a Costco ginger bread house (you guys this thing is $9 and prebuilt!), snow globes, sugar cookies, decorated foam gingerbread men... the holidays are the best to fill your time up with kid activities. Finally, and for the first time ever I have a dedicated crafting space. We are still in our apartment saving and waiting for the perfec...
