Austin has been the best support. I definitely married out of my league.
He's been very proactive in finding lots of healthy things
for my recommended diet (by the neurological disorder peeps, and an intolerance.) because my hemidystonia has had less spasms and cramps.
As of lately, brown rice bread!
Seriously, it's great even if you don't need wheat-free. It's a nice change of pace! It's sweet and light.
We grind our own brown rice to save money. Winco here in Idaho has
the best deal for bulk brown rice :)
Here's a crazy picture of my hand, this was actually the first spasm/cramp
I've had in a bit. (Haha, least my nails are painted ;) ) This is actually why (for those of you who've asked) Intaglio will not be my last degree. I was informed that I've got a good chance of this happening to my right side too.
Art might get interesting! But I plan to keep doing it as a career too, no matter what! Cause it might not even happen. I'm banking on that. But still gotta be safe!
With interests in doing my own research as my bishop counseled me, I've learned
that I can educate myself and help my myself immensely. (Austin too! He's better than me!) I also learned I want to share and turn this thing into a positive, hence rehabilitation nursing.
At times when my body just isn't doing what it's supposed to, I'm grateful for all the amazing
things it's leading me to discover about myself and others. Dystonia brought me to art actually, and now to something with rehabilitation; it got me interested in food affecting the body, and exercise. It also makes me grateful for what I have and for my wonderful husband who sticks by me. And when my hand happens to be the thing cramping, I get to take off my rings and see this sweet message under the band. Love you Austin!
What a wonderful post! I'm very happy that you have a great support system. It helps so much! Honestly, I feel your pain, it's a little bit different, but I know how hard it is to face this kind of thing, do the research, change your life, and come out feeling somewhat more victorious that you were before. Message me on FB if you want to chat. You're awesome!
ReplyDeleteJessica! Thanks so much! I noticed you were interested in nutrition for your situation as well, I have lots of recipes if you ever want to trade or test stuff out! Thanks for your support, and you hang in there too!
ReplyDeleteAs always, you bring beauty and truth to any situation. I wish you did not have to go through this more than you know. And I know you and your tiger spirit will claw away the crud and leap to the heights which feed your soul. Love you.
ReplyDeleteThat was so sweet, that means so much to me! Thanks for inspiring me in the first place! It has done more for me than you'll ever know, and will continue to do so.
