Flying Solo

Austin's been a solo man as of late....

I got super sick with a bacterial infection (as of late, more tests to come.)

But before that was Austin with a 5 day flu, and then me with the flu, and then when I got better from that, I got an infection woot woot! Healthy over here!
I got super flu-y again over the weekend and I won't go into details. I got a bit better and I had been fine to go teach a class on Monday at my college because I had gotten over what I though to be whatever Austin had. Then Tuesday went to my CNA class. And while I was there I was talking to a friend. She was telling me about her annoying apartment neighboors and I shouted, " UM... I'mma be sick hold on...." And I swear to St. Maria I have every trash can mapped out in that EITC building because when I went bursting down the hallway to the bathroom, it felt like friggin videogames and finding checkpoints.

I ended up cleaning the EITC bathroom stall for them.... let's just say that. I went home and tried to brush it off then BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM....Psh I finally went to urgent care because this was four days now after an already five day flu... and getting so much worse with abdominal cramping.

Naturally they want to take my blood. And I am so dehydrated by a weekend and half-day of this already.... look what they had to do to my arm!

So.... as it always goes for us Needle-Phobes.... six stabs later they go to your hand.

When I am a nurse, I am going to feel so bad for doing this to people cause I HATE it.

Got a buncha tests and antiobiotic fun stuff and and anti-diarrhea medication to retain fluids. They told me to try really hard to get stuff in me because my blood was sticky.

So we got this stuffs and a giant gatorade:

Three of those Ensures are missing..... Two of them over two days BLAM BLAM BLAM!!!

And so was a bit of that medication BLAM BLAM!

Flip.

Austin decided to give me a blessing so the antibiotics would take. I got the impression to drink gatorade so I would have one last throw up so it wouldn't be with the antibiotics. After that session I took down a pill and I got one down.

Success!

Except then it was SO bad....  because THE SIDE AFFECT IS NAUSEA OMGsh!!! I was watching the Biggest Loser on my laptop to get my mind off of it, and I swore I watched a 24hour marathon because I felt like a pressure chamber ready to explode all over again.

Austin got the impression that I was severely dehydrated and since I hadn't had anything really stay in me for four days minus a bottle of milk on Monday.... the big issue now was just getting water in. I drank two of the smallest sips and I threw up in my mouth immediately.... but I was determined to keep down the antibiotic because I know that's a huge part of this. I drank down 30mL of water over 2 hours by sucking it off my finger like a bird feeder LOL.... and it worked!!!!

And this morning so did the antibiotic :DDD

Oh the power of prayer and hanging in there praying every 2 seconds in your head to keep the darn stuff down.

I can't wait to enjoy these bad boys we bought on sale before I got super sick:

Austin told me that they're the best oranges he's ever had in a while, and I believe him because I've been catching him like this all this time!

He's been taking such good care of me!
Best husband ever!

  1. I'm pretty sure youre the most patient person ever! Once I was violently ill for like 24 hours like every ten minutes and I really did think thatbo was going to die. You are pretty much my hero for how positive you are, I love you guys!

    1. You are way too nice, I'm pretty sure I eliminated the whining and griping hahaha! OH! And I totally kept down the green beans today hahaha! I had them for an easy veggie to try (and totally scrumptious!) How are you feeling??

  2. Still a little funky but waaaaay better. Everyone in the house had the stomach flu so we were all pretty miserable but after a good nights sleep we were all feeling like the world might actually go on haha. I'm glad you like the beans! Home canned is always way yummier than the storebought kind being able to keep down veggies and such is a good sign, you should try a KeVita probiotic drink! They are so good and are like the perfect amount of fizzy! They are on the back wall (refergerated) of broulims and the mango flavor is my fave :)

The Last Stretch

I am on the last little stretch before the surgery! It's amazing how in denial I can still be, thinking that I do not have anything wrong. But then you get a wake up call when your body does funky things you can't stop, and then you fall down the stairs twice. Once I popped my shoulder, and the second I popped a hip and broke my back molar coming down on my side. So I got that tooth fixed ASAP, thank the heavens it didn't damage any roots! At the dentist my mouth was opened for an extended period of time, and needles were involved. Just when you think you have this whole Dystonia thing under control.... another reminder! I got lock jaw while working as a floor nurse! My jaw had increasing pain through the week, and I revisited the dentist. Nothing wrong with my tooth. At work, it sealed shut (and not to be gross) but when you have an intense cramp like that, it causes immense pain. I do in fact throw up sometimes from the pain. Well if your mouth seals... and tons...

Call Me a SAHM in Training

Stay at Home Mom (SAHM)  Besides a medical leave and two maternity leaves, I’ve always been a full-time plus on call nurse mom. I am now almost two months into being a SAHM and I would have to still say I’m training! A lot of you have told me routine is so important, and I’ve been trying my darndest to do that. We do library time or errands in the morning, naptime and quiet time after lunch, and art and outdoor/indoor active  play until dad comes home! Some days it blows up in my face, much like what we’d call a s-tshow at work, haha! Except these are my monkeys and my circus! But mostly because I am learning and loving it, too. I struggle with anxiety and depression. Ever since I was little. My post-partum depression with R was so difficult. I am so lucky to have an incredible husband and health team that honestly kept me alive during that time. Luckily, I was treated prior to giving birth to A too because a) it was known I get PPD and b) it’s better and easier to tr...

Sunday Eats

Finals are upon us! Wish us luck!  So a little about life lately... or you can skip to the awesome food at the bottom lol. Well, we might need that luck especially cause I kicked a stool on accident in the print lab and broke two toes all crazy like. Then proceeded in my 12 hour no-break printing frenzy standing on them dang toes.... and sick.....lol! That's what I get for not wearing my brace. Good thing we are done with Insanity! That's right, you heard us! Done with Insanity, the 9 week program :D We both are going to take our pictures soon and post them! We are doing hip hop abs for the next two weeks as finals are happening (and it's less intense on my toes) then starting Insanity all over. Yes, we are insane thank you ;) We actually were kind of freaking out because this fall, we apply to law and nursing school! We finish in April, but will hear most likely in the winter where we will head out to.  I might wait to apply until Austin chooses a scho...
