Buckets of Surprises

Juno has been attached to us when we come home from work... literally (she jumps inbetween your legs and purrs and rubs while you walk causing many a trips and tumbles). She waits and waits, and watches what you're doing. And like the classic cat, she has to be a part of it. While I make my lunch, she's gotta hop up to see what's happening too (no, there will be no cat-hair sandwiches on my watch.) Shoo kitty shoo....

Still love you and that you love me!

Banished. lol.

I came home from work today much greeted by Juno, and by the crazy thunderstorm. As you can see we have the roofers over because our house needs a lot of work.

Well, half the roof is stripped. Which means I had to get five buckets out to catch the flooding from the ceiling lol! Juno was freaking out because of the LOUD thunder cracks, and a wave of rain hit her in her favourite window. Then the ceiling got her wet too lol. Poor thing was out of her mind.

Surprise!

I also got another surprise though --a birthday present from my cousins and Aunt! Michelle (cousine) does such wonderful jewelry and has a store:

visit .:Here:.

(fifthandmay.com)

She sent me a Wyoming 14k gold state necklace and it is soo cute and dainty! And just to throw a little hoo-rah out to her store, most of her stuff is $10 and below. The special necklaces like this one she sells for $12.95!

Also in the package they sent me, was a lunchbox that is cuter than heck. It's not so lunchboxy. If you know me I carry these things everywhere because I can't really eat out or eat other people's food.

Plus, my latest lunchbox (and boy was it old) died a horrible death in a food item explosion.
Perfect timing.

I did save my keys and my hamster keychain. I was half tempted to throw him out, but I just couldn't... the guy has been one of those odd things you save from when you are little... one of those weird nonsensical things that have always been a part of your life.

So he got a dawn soap bath.

If you think this is pathetic, you should have seen him even before the explosion.

After all those happenings, (because I have to get up at 3:30am) I had to have me a bowl of my faaaavourite thing right now before I sleep --pao di quiejo.I always bake tons of it because it can be used for everything. I make buns, rolls, and mini muffin bites. My favourite recipe is on our recipe page. Last night I was craving a burger, but a good ol' fast food kind. So I made some pao di quiejo buns, got a burger from Wendy's with Austin and holy crap I died. (Dude, this stuff is cheesy bread. A cheesy bread freaking Baconator. YEAH.)

Glorious. Warm cheesy bread.

And with that, good night and sweet dreams of deliciousness.

xoxo from this 14k decked out Wyoming girl ;)

The Last Stretch

I am on the last little stretch before the surgery! It's amazing how in denial I can still be, thinking that I do not have anything wrong. But then you get a wake up call when your body does funky things you can't stop, and then you fall down the stairs twice. Once I popped my shoulder, and the second I popped a hip and broke my back molar coming down on my side. So I got that tooth fixed ASAP, thank the heavens it didn't damage any roots! At the dentist my mouth was opened for an extended period of time, and needles were involved. Just when you think you have this whole Dystonia thing under control.... another reminder! I got lock jaw while working as a floor nurse! My jaw had increasing pain through the week, and I revisited the dentist. Nothing wrong with my tooth. At work, it sealed shut (and not to be gross) but when you have an intense cramp like that, it causes immense pain. I do in fact throw up sometimes from the pain. Well if your mouth seals... and tons...

Snowglobes of Wonder and Joy

I made snowglobes!  I've always loved those, even as a little kid. Then I saw DIY's on Pinterest, and thought.... Why hadn't I thought of making them before?? So in a nutshell, jars, hot glue, brush christmas trees (or anything plastic-y) glitter... and then to fill the jar, distilled water, glitter and some corn syrup to thicken it! I made all of these (already had jars) for $4.00! We attempted a gingerbread house with some friends... as you can see it looks like a crackhouse.    So... I think it's best I stick with the kind of art I know haha! I made a lot of books this break, and Austin can't complain cause he's an Eng. Lit.  He's been busy cooking some more amazing meals and snacks! Those are a healthy alfredo with quinoa base, and the other are applechips! Visit our Recipe page for cooking instructions .:here:. Also, for those who don't already know after my super obnoxious facebook excitement...

Joyeux Noël

My Mom and Lance came out! Austin and I took it as an opportunity to cook the heck out of our kitchen for them! We got a white Christmas which was amazing. For two reasons: Mom and Lance are from California and so it was magical for them, and it could be our last white Christmas for a while! (A lot of schools are in the South.)  My mom's side of the family is very German so we celebrate Christmas Eve. We used to have minestrone soup, but everyone hated it. So... we turned to our California roots and make tortilla soup instead. As a kid, it always made sense that Christmas happened at night. All the pictures you saw of baby Jesus were at night with the star. My mom said when she was little, she just thought German kids were special haha! I made my mom and Lance some hardcase books, a snowglobe, and got them a ceramic ornament. Santa also surprised them in the morning with a stocking ;) My grandma Hofmann used to make these egg ornaments (she passed away in 19...
